I am often perplexed when I see someone post a query in one of the business groups I am in about whether they should use Wordpress or Squarespace for their biz website. I am not perplexed by the question, but more so the responses. Most people say WordPress is best.
From my personal experience with WordPress, it was extremely complicated, had a lot of glitches and major security problems. I mean who doesn't love scrolling through pages of messages only to find that most are from someone selling a carving knife, or erection-helpers.
I choose Squarespace, hands-down every time. Granted, Squarespace is not for everyone. If you want to fiddle with your website until the wee hours of the night, WordPress is perfect for you! I would rather go out to a movie or something (which is what I am doing right after this blog post).
If you just starting out and are serious about your business, don't use all your time building the website. Do something simple fast and beautiful. Squarespace it totally customizable and you can still make a website that stands out.
Plus, it is so simple to use that blogging becomes a total pleasure and you wont be placing those midnite calls to your web designer.
I use it for all my sites and all my client's sites unless they have tons of stuff and have been with WordPress for years and don't want to migrate.
There, I made my case. Now I'm off to see a movie--wait no actually I have to laundry! BLAH!
